Strong storms lined up through eastern KY, just to the west of Corbin, and extending down through Chattanooga. The storms near Crossville and to the KY/TN line and now near Corbin have warnings out (some of which have produced tornado warnings occasionally). Those we'll need to keep an eye as they're heading north and east toward the area. Damaging winds are the greatest threats from the storms.
The quicker the dry slot moves in and if there are breaks in the clouds allowing for more heating, then the chances for severe weather increase. Good thing is the precip shield exiting the area is still trying to hang on for some. Noticed a couple of storms pulse up on the back edge and move through the more stable air, not a good sign.
Storms pushing into far eastern KY, just about every county being affected is under a severe thunderstorm warning (including Harlan, Bell, and Letcher). One storm near Hazard had a tornado warning out, that just recently expired though.
Severe thunderstorm watch being issued for the remaining area (including Scott, Russell, Dickenson, etc.) until 10 p.m.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lee and Hancock County until 6:45 p.m. and a Tornado Warning out for southern Harlan County until 7 p.m.

line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in
excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending
from 10 miles north of Pennington Gap to Bean Station... moving
east at 50 mph.

Doppler radar has indicated some weak rotation within this storm...
and a tornado could develop with little warning. If a tornado is
spotted... act quickly and move to a place of safety in a sturdy
structure... such as a basement or small interior room.
